Coats Electric was founded by Tommy Coats in 1985.  Having previously worked in the electrical industry beginning in 1970 at GE and then with Mayer, Tommy decided to try his hand at Contracting.  Beginning with small commercial jobs, and five employees, the company grew quickly.  Later, the company picked up a few industrial accounts, Electric which through Coats Electric into the industrial field, as well!  Coats Electric’s focus for the first ten years was primarily commercial and industrial work.  Around 1995 Mr Coats was approached to try his hand at Multi-Family developments.  This venture too was a success, and Coats Electric’s main focus for the next ten years would be multi family construction.  In 2008 the construction industry slowed greatly, and the company fell on hard times, along with many others.  We all laced up our boots and got to work even harder!  We managed to make it through those tough times with the help of two large education facilities.  Both of those projects proved to be a profitable venture to the company! The success of those first two schools have led to others.  It has been the diversity of work that has led Coats electric to where it is today.  Today Coats Electric is providing quality electrical work for commercial, industrial, educational facilities, multifamily, and mixed use developments.  At Coats Electric we strive to provide the best product, provided at a competitive price,  produced with safe practices.
